Meet your guide at your central Dubai hotel and board a comfortable air-conditioned 4×4. Enjoy the views as you leave the city skyscrapers behind and set off on your 6-hour Dubai desert tour. Gaze at the Dubai sands and hear all about the desert’s ecology and its history as you travel. After arriving at a traditional camel farm, see the hardy herbivores up close and take a memorable camel ride within the enclosures. Discover more about the different species of camels used in the region, and then return to your 4×4 to continue your desert journey. Afterward, arrive at a desert campsite nestled amid the Dubai sand dunes and leave your 4×4 again to sample the thrills of sandboarding. Following a safety briefing, practice riding a sandboard with tips from your guide. Once you’re confident, race your fellow travelers down the drifting dune slopes. Then settle inside the camp as the sun sinks below the dunes and plains. If you wish, ask one of the henna artists to paint a tattoo on one of your hands or feet. Watch a colorful tanoura folk dance and visit our new onsite shawrma station or savor a succulent barbecue dinner. Dig into typical Arabian dishes such as hummus (chickpea dip) and marinated chicken. (See below for a sample menu.) As a finale, puff on a shisha (Arabic water pipe) if you wish, and watch a brilliant belly-dance performance around the campfire. Upgrade to an Exclusive Dubai Desert Safari by enjoying the delicious barbecue dinner at your exclusive table with a bottle of sparkling wine and fruit basket. Soak up the desert setting as the stars light up overhead, and conclude your tour with 4×4 drop-off at your Dubai hotel.

  1. I would be so down for this! I want to try sandboarding really badly (even though I know I would probably suck at it haha)! Puffing on a shisha and watching belly dancing would also be fun:D

  2. I’d love to visit Dubai someday and if I do I’m absolutely going to do a Jeep Safari. I’d love to try sand boarding and the barbecue dinner sounds fantastic. The belly dancing show would be the perfect way to end this great day!

  3. It’s the first time I am hearing about the Dubai desert safari. Looks like a dry place with endless sand dunes. I would love to visit in one of those 4WD drive cars, the view is looking really amazing.

  4. I have done this. Finally I see something I have done but I want to revisit this time and try quadrabike tour too. Beautifully written article. Sandboarding I wish I can learn. Dubai is beautiful

  5. Desert safaris in Dubai are to die for. I remember taking them up ages ago. Time for another one, I say! Cheers!!

  6. The more I read about visiting the Middle East the more it appeals to me. I love shisha, bellydancing and the jeep tour looks amazing. Not gonna lie won’t be sandboarding anytime soon but would love to watch it in action. As a Canadian we don’t often think of visiting places like Dubai as they just cost so much to get to from home, but living in Europe I think this is a great place to go and see that no one would expect that’s for sure.

  7. There is so much to do in Dubai but honestly Dubai failed to impress me. I missed belly dancing in this visit mine may be I will catch it in my another visit to this country 🙂

  8. This desert safari is more hard-core than the one I did in Jaisalmer, India. Instead of 4×4’s and sandboarding, we rode camels. This is certainly recommended for adrenaline junkies!

  9. Its truly amazing to see how beautiful the Desert of Dubai is. When I was in a Moroccan restaurant with my friends I have witness the magnificent belly dances performance of Morocco’s pride, for sure I would love to see how exotic is the belly dancing of Dunbai. Some of by old friends live and work in Dubai, it is really a luxury country with its complexity from the City view down to the splendid desert.

  10. Desert safari on an ATV sounds just awesome. I’d totally love to do that. I haven’t been to Dubai and haven’t had real enthusiasm to head there. But this desert safari on 4×4 is something totally impressive. Belly Dancing is exotic as well.

  11. I loved doing the desert safari the I went to Dubai, it is a must do activity and I highly recommend it, the food was awesome and the entrainment. Great post enjoyed reading, hope I can do this activity again I the future.

  12. I would LOVE to go on this tour! I recently went on a tour to the Sahara Desert in Morocco, but I was there for such a short time and didn’t have the opportunity to go on a 4×4 ride or try sand boarding, which I really wanted to do! I am definitely adding this to my list for when I finally make it to Dubai!

  13. I was in Dubai few months ago. I somehow missed the Desert Safari experience in Dubai. I am personally against riding a camel but yes surfing a sandboard, tanoura and belly sounds sound promising. Maybe next time.

  14. I have done Desert safari in Dubai and it was my first experience of dune bashing. It was a thrilling experience no doubt. The music, dance and the food in deserts makes it all the more fun.
